Super Bowl LVII was memorable for becoming the third-highest-scoring Super Bowl game, with a combined total of 73 points, and the Philadelphia Eagles’ 35 points were the most ever scored by a Super Bowl losing team.

The 2023 halftime show broke another record, by becoming the most-watched Super Bowl halftime show in history, with 121 million concurrent viewers.

Will the 2024 show break that record again this year? Featuring one of the biggest names in music, the halftime show is often one of the most anticipated events of the year.

Super Bowl LVIII will see the winners of the AFC take on the winners of the NFC on February 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, southwest of Las Vegas. Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders, will be the first in the Las Vegas Valley area to ever host a Super Bowl. It will be the third year in a row that the championship has been played in the Western United States though.

What to Watch for During the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show

Last year’s Super Bowl halftime show (2023) was the first year sponsored by Apple Music, replacing Pepsi who’d been the sponsor for the previous ten years. The event, the result of a partnership between Apple Music, the NFL, and Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s entertainment agency, headlined international superstar Rihanna, who has been signed with Roc Nation since 2014.

Official trailer teases Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime event.

This year, the 2024 Super Bowl (LVIII) will feature Usher as its headline act. An eight-time Grammy award winner, Usher has sold over 75 million records worldwide and was performing in his “Usher: My Way” residency in Las Vegas at the time of the announcement.

Speaking about the event, Usher has said it will be an honor to check a Super Bowl performance off his bucket list. He told reporters: “I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before.”

But most speculation centers on who might be joining him on stage. His special guests may include previous collaborators, such as Ludacris, Lil Jon, or even Alicia Keys. He may appear with other Roc Nation performers instead, which include such diverse sounds as Megan Thee Stallion, J. Cole, Big Sean, Christina Aguilera, DJ Khaled, and Robin Thicke.

Usher’s Halftime Show won’t be the only performance at this year’s Super Bowl, though it’s currently unknown who will be singing the national anthem.

FAQs

How long is the Super Bowl halftime show?

The Super Bowl XLIII halftime show should last about 15 minutes. However, unlike a regular season or conference playoff game, there is generally no set limit for how long a performance will go. Instead, the exact length of a given show is largely determined by the artists, producers, and others within the league itself.
