Head coach Brent Venables has been with the Sooners for two seasons with a record of 16-9 (10-8 in-conference). With him are defensive coordinators Ted Roof, Todd Bates, and Jay Valai. Offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby has left to be head coach of Mississippi State.
Quarterback Dillon Gabriel has entered the transfer portal so Freshman Jackson Arnold will be leading the Sooners’ offense at the Alamo Bowl. With him are running back Gavin Sawchuk, wide receivers Drake Stoops, Nic Anderson, and Jalil Farooq, and tight end Austin Stogner.
