All About the Philadelphia Phillies
The Philadelphia Phillies have struggled for much of their history. Despite having been in existence since 1883, the club has just two World Series championships.
The only other one to have been playing since at least 1901 with that number or fewer titles is the Cleveland Guardians, who played their first season in 1901 and also have two championships. In fact, Philadelphia only played in two postseasons prior to 1976, winning National League pennants in 1915 and 1950.
However, 1976 was the first of three straight playoff appearances. And the Phillies finally broke through in 1980, defeating the Kansas City Royals in six games in the World Series. A total of 55 million people watched the final contest on television, still the most-watched Fall Classic game in history.
The club’s second World Series title occurred in 2008. Playoff series wins over the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers were followed by a dominating five-game victory against the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series.
Meanwhile, the team’s most recent National League pennant, its seventh, came the following year. The Phils fell to the New York Yankees in the 2009 World Series.
Philadelphia last made the postseason in 2011 while its 2021 campaign was the team’s first greater-than-.500 season since then (82-80).

Philadelphia Phillies With Sling TV
Sling TV offers two streaming plans at some of the cheapest streaming prices available. The two main options start at just $40.00/mo. Unlike Sling Blue, Sling Orange also offers ESPN, where you can catch some of the Philadelphia Phillies live streams.
