TV Channels to Watch World Cup 2022 in China
CCTV is the primary source for 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup coverage in China. It is short for China Central Television and is the state-owned broadcaster for the country. But it isn’t a TV channel.
Instead, CCTV runs over 40 free and pay channels. The tournament will be featured on a number of channels:
- CCTV-1
- CCTV-2 — Finance
- CCTV-5 — Sports
- CCTV-5+ — Sports HD
- CCTV-7 — Defense Military
- CCTV-13 — News
You can stream all CCTV channels outside of China, except for the two free sports channels, which are limited to viewers inside China including Hong Kong and Macau. Taiwan is understandably excluded but the World Cup can be viewed there through Chinese Television System (CTS).

How to Stream the 2023 World Cup in China
CCTV is streaming the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 in China, too. But it is quite limited in terms of streaming devices (see below). But if you are fine watching in a web browser, you’re set.
Migu TV is probably a better option for streaming the World Cup. It is the video streaming arm of China Mobile and it has been moving into sports coverage. It won’t be streaming anything that CCTV isn’t broadcasting, since it is licensing the World Cup from the government-owned broadcaster.
But it does offer streaming devices that CCTV does not offer. And it will also be offering on-demand replays of matches.
As with CCTV-5, it seems you must be in China to stream matches.
Shinai Sports is also streaming the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
Those traveling outside of China can find many streaming services that will allow you to watch the World Cup — although not usually with Chinese commentary. In the US, we recommend FuboTV because of its exceptional soccer coverage. But Sling TV is an excellent low-cost option.

FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Schedule
China will start the 2023 tournament with a match with Denmark on Saturday, July 22nd at . They are in Group D and that stage will continues through August 3rd. Here are their scheduled matches:
