Beach volleyball has become extremely popular lately. It combines the beauty of the normal game with a focus more on individual effort and less on team coordination.
Each May, the NCAA holds a championship for the best of the women’s teams. At roughly the same time, the traditional men’s volleyball tournament takes place and despite it always being an exciting affair, the beach tournament completely overshadows it.
The college beach volleyball championship is the newest NCAA championship. It has been held in Gulf Shores, Alabama, hosted by the University of Alabama Birmingham, since the first 2016.
