About Copa América 2024

Copa América is the oldest international soccer competition in the world, dating back to 1916. It is also known as CONMEBOL Copa América. It features North American, South American, and Central American countries.

I’m thinking about the Copa América, and I want to do well. And it will be right here in the United States. It’s going to be beautiful.

Teams advance from the group rounds to the elimination rounds by earning points based upon points awarded based on the outcome of each group match. Teams earn 3 points for a win or 1 point for a tie. No points are awarded for losses.

During the elimination rounds, there can be no ties so, except for the final match, ties are broken via penalty kicks. In the final match, if there is a tie after 90 minutes, two more 15-minute halves will be played. If the teams are still tied after these additional halves, the champion will be crowned via penalty kicks.
